I have taken a new job at Rackspace. I'm extremely excited to have the chance to be a Racker. I'll be working with the Cloud Servers team as a Linux Operations Administrator. I plan to still keep an eye out on the PaaS space, specifically CloudFoundry, even though I will be working in an IaaS shop. They are tightly coupled =)

Liz and I will be moving to San Antonio - this will be a huge change! We're looking for an apartment, a car, and some sanity.

I promise this list isn't all just bizarre IT topics.
    1. Home cooked meals are where it's at. After 20+ days eating on the run, I'm very glad to have some home cookin. =)
    2. IT as a whole is due for a serious disruption. The disruption will occur slower than cloud / *aaS vendors want, due to the following: the triple constraint which is evident in all projects, and accrual of technical debt in order to satisfy the triple constraint, and an overall shrink in IT innovation budgets. Through automation, enterprises will free up resources to point at development of new LOB apps.
    3. The true test of any decision is to make it again.
    4. Turning off the AC and opening the windows is a great feeling- for the wallet and for the soul.
    5. I'd love to have another car and a dishwasher. And a Macbook Air.
    6. People are going to be pissed when they realize the reason the job market sucks is because a failure of education... they'll be even more pissed when they realize the only way out in the long run is education.
    7. There is a distinct lack of courage among us all. It takes courage to get real, ask the hard questions, find their answers, and act accordingly. I feel utterly failed by my representative democracy- you are being answered by complacency and "we can't", ask WHY? Others are able. Empower & exemplify those who give you responsible results without bullshit. Citizens: this goes for you too. Hold us all accountable.
    8. Twitter lists are superior than larger following counts.
    9. 1 hour out of my day isn't all that much.
    10. 2011 will be over before you know it.
